THE RAFFLE is a sweepstakes offered by NOMODAMUS LLC (the "House"), which receives entries by post at the address in section 4. It is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by any payment company, card network, stablecoin issuer, blockchain network, app store or social network.
Open to natural persons who are 18 years of age or older (or the age of majority where they live, if higher) at the time of entry. Employees and contractors of the House, their immediate families and household members may not enter. Void where prohibited or restricted by law, including any jurisdiction that prohibits promotions of this kind or requires a registration the House has not made.
Each round has an opening time and a time at which the drum closes, shown on the public page in the visitor's local time and kept by the House's server in UTC. The server closes the drum at that time by itself. An entry not counted before the drum closes is not in the drawing; a ticket paid after the close, or after the House has stopped selling tickets in the round, is not in the drawing and is refunded. The drawing follows within seven (7) days of the close. The House may close the drum early only for a reason stated on the page: while the drum is closed early the page shows every visitor the day the drum closed beside the day it was published to close, with that reason, and keeps showing it with the round's drawing. The House may reopen a closed round with the same prizes only until the public beacon named at its close is published (section 7); from then on the drum is final. A reopened round never closes earlier than the close that was published before it, and the close it undid (with an early close's reason) stays on the round's public record. In a round that sells tickets, no ticket is sold by card in the last thirty-two minutes before the close and none in a stablecoin in the last twenty-five; every card session and every stablecoin invoice ends before the close, so that a payment made as asked arrives before the drum is frozen. A payment that arrives after the drum is frozen is not in the drawing and is returned (section 4). A prize is held over to a later round when the number of entries is below the floor stated for that prize.
Entries by script, bot or any automated means, and entries with false names or addresses, are void. Disposable or throwaway email addresses may be voided by the House before the drum closes.
The public page shows the round behind a door that may ask for a word; the word is written on the House's site, and the House may change it. The door is part of the page's look only: it never stands between anyone and the entry by mail (section 4.1), these rules, or the round's public record, which anyone may read without it. A holder of a ticket may enter the drawing room at any time, a round open or not, with the ticket's own code: the receipt code shown on the device it was bought on and sent in the House's email (an entry by mail receives its code by email). A code shows its holder the tickets it names, the round and its drawing; it is checked by the House's server and limited the way the word is. The price and the number of tickets a person may hold are set for each round before it opens and do not change while it is open.
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Every eligible entry has one equal chance for each prize unit drawn, and an entry wins at most one prize. The two main prizes (section 6, items 1 and 2) are drawn only when the drum holds at least [two hundred (200)] entries; below that they are held over to a later round and only the discounts are drawn. The number of entries in the drum is shown on the public page and kept by the server.
The prizes of a round are listed on the public page while the round is open. They are fixed when the round opens and do not change while it is open or if it is reopened. A typical round offers:
A prize is a seat or a discount on NOMODAMUS. It has no cash value, is not transferable, may not be resold, and cannot be exchanged for money. A seat prize is granted to the account registered under the winner's entry email; a discount code is delivered to that email. A prize unclaimed [sixty (60)] days after notice is forfeited and passes on as described in section 7. A seat prize is subject to the NOMODAMUS member agreement.
The seal, when the round opens. The House's server makes a random 32-byte seed and publishes its SHA-256 hash on the page. The seed is kept by the server and shown to no one, the House included, until the drawing.
The drum, when it closes. The ticket numbers of every eligible entry are listed in ascending order and hashed with SHA-256; the list and its hash are published (read at /raffle/state and at the round's record). From then on nothing enters or leaves the drum.
The beacon, named when it closes. The close also names a round of the public randomness beacon run by the League of Entropy (drand, the "quicknet" chain), due ten minutes after the close. Its value is unknown to everyone when it is named, the House included, and cannot be chosen by the House; once published it can be checked by anyone with drand's own tools.
The drawing, once, after the beacon. The order of the whole drum is derived from the seed, the drum hash and the beacon alone: a Fisher–Yates shuffle of the ascending list of ticket numbers in which each step is drawn from HMAC-SHA256 keyed by the seed over the drum hash and the beacon, with rejection sampling so no entry is favoured. The prizes are laid on that order in the order of section 6: the first prize to the first entry in good standing, the next to the next. After the drawing the seed, the beacon, the drum and the whole order are published on the round's record, so anyone can check every step from the public page alone: that the seed matches the seal, that the list matches the drum hash, that the beacon is drand's, and that the order and every prize follow. Because the seed was sealed before the beacon existed and the beacon did not exist when the drum was frozen, neither the House nor anyone else could choose the order. A round is drawn once and is never drawn again.
A prize that falls. When a winner is found ineligible, cannot be reached, forfeits the prize, or the entry is refunded or charged back, that winner is void and the prize passes to the next entry in the same published order. The House does not choose who receives it. A prize already delivered to a winner who is then voided is taken back: a discount code stops working, and a seat is closed. Each void is shown on the round's public record with its reason (refunded, disputed, ineligible, unreachable, forfeit or declined) and with the ticket number the prize passed to, or, when no entry is left in the order, as unclaimed. The record of every drawn round stays on the public page after later rounds open.
Winners are notified at the email on their entry. The public page shows winners by ticket number only (for example "No 04 213") — never a name, never a place — in the record of each drawn round. Winners may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and a release; a winner who cannot be reached or who is found ineligible forfeits the prize, which passes on as described in section 7. A winner list is available on request to the House at info@nomodamusllc.com for [ninety (90)] days after the drawing.
An entry gives the House the entrant's name, email, a country stamp from the network edge or the card, and a keyed hash of the network address; a stablecoin ticket also gives the paying address, the amount and the transaction id that the network publishes. The House keeps them to run the drawing, deliver the prizes, return payments and keep its records, never shows them on a public page (the public page shows ticket numbers only), and does not sell them. Card details are handled by the House's card processor and never reach the House.
By entering, an entrant agrees to these rules and to the decisions of the House, which are final on all matters. The House may void entries and cancel or suspend a round if fraud, a technical failure or any cause beyond its control affects the round's fairness or administration. Taxes on a prize are the winner's. [These rules are governed by the laws of the State of ______, and any dispute is brought in its courts.] NOMODAMUS is an informational instrument; a seat is not financial advice, and nothing about the raffle is.
